In ministry I’ve noticed that men are squeezed and torn by the temptation to please people and populate the building. We have others impose onto us expectations and plans when we’ve been called (and ordered) by God to follow the Spirit’s leading to make disciples. We are tempted to think of our calling as a professional CEO or to compare it to thriving companies. We think we need to provide for families and not fail our wives and not overlook the Gospel presentations in our own homes. We can easily be blamed for spiritual abuse and often, as a profession, have been blamed for many rejecting God and the church. When, most of us, honestly accepted a call years ago to simply be a man set apart for His glorious fame and the possibility that we could help others taste and see that God is good.
Where have the real men in ministry gone? Am I still one of them? Oh that God would gloriously make His name great in the lives of our Pastors.
I’m excited about this conference.
